FAQ’s

What keeps people from achieving their fitness goals?

Motivation:

Results Personal Training is designed to keep you motivated towards your fitness goals, by keeping your workouts challenging yet fun. One reason people lose motivation is because they don’t see results. I am here to safely push you so you will see results.

Injury:

Some people give up on their fitness goals because they either over-train and injure themselves or train improperly and injure themselves. Results Personal Training will give you a safe structured program geared towards keeping your body healthy and preventing injury.

Accountability:

Hiring a personal trainer will make you accountable for your workouts. It is easy to talk yourself out of working out before or after a long day of work, but if you pay the money and have a set time to meet with someone, it reduces the chances of couch surfing instead of working out.

You’re here at my website because you are considering hiring a personal trainer. You are also probably here because what you are currently doing is not working and you need help. Results Personal Training is your solution.

Let Results Personal Training unlock your body’s potential and help you lose body fat, increase muscle mass, strengthen your immune system, increase energy, increase self esteem, strengthen your body, strengthen your cardiovascular system, and be healthier.

Core Training:

1. What is the core?

The core is every muscle that attaches to the spinal column, the rib cage, and the pelvis.

2. What function does the core serve?

The purpose of the core is to stabilize the spine, rib cage, and pelvis during movements. When the spine and pelvis are properly stabilized the outer muscles will function at their optimal levels.

3. How can increasing my core strength increase my daily or athletic performance?

Proper core training can reduce the risk of injury, increase strength, endurance, speed, agility, balance, and power by keeping the spine, rib cage, and pelvis in alignment. Improper core training however, will strengthen the muscles that pull the spine, rib cage or pelvis out of alignment and increase the weakness of the core muscles that aren’t working properly for stabilization. Improper core training will prevent increases in strength, endurance, speed, agility, balance and power and increase the risk of injury.

4. How should I train my core?

Your core training should match your desired goals. If you have long duration competitions you should train your core to stabilize for the duration of the bout. If you’re training for short sprints train your core accordingly. If your core isn’t strong or does not have the endurance to withstand your competition other muscles will be required to do their job and also the job of the core. Fatigue will set in, the risk for injury greatly increases, and your desired goals (strength, endurance, speed, agility, balance, and power) will suffer as well.

If you play any sport, or compete in any event requiring movement, your core training is essential to your success.

4. Do I need to be in shape to hire a trainer?

You don’t have to be in shape to hire a trainer. A personal trainer serves as your personal fitness consultant based on your needs, whether that means getting started on a fitness routine for the first time in your life, pushing past fitness plateaus, giving you that extra motivation you need to continue to work out, or simply the peace of mind that the accountability and supervision of having a certified personal trainer brings.

5. Do I need to join South Congress Athletic Club?

No. However, if you choose to join South Congress Athletic Club, your Personal Training rates will be cheaper. There’s no obligation to join, but I’ve worked at several fitness clubs in the Austin area and I can say with confidence that the environment at South Congress Athletic Club is unique and inviting.

6. How many times a week should I train with a trainer?

This depends on several items:

- what your current fitness goals are;

- what you can afford; and

- what kind of dedication you are willing to put forth outside of our scheduled sessions.

7. How long is a session?

Each session lasts an hour, and includes an active warm up and adequate cool-down stretching instruction.

8. Can I train with a partner?

Yes, working out with a partner is a great idea. It can help you stay motivated, makes your workouts more enjoyable, and helps make training more affordable for both of you (see rates page for partner training rates).

9. What happens if I cancel a session?

I require 24 hours cancellation notice. If you do not contact me to cancel within 24 hours of our session, you will still be charged for that session.

10. I am ready to get started: how soon will I see results?

You will start feeling some results immediately. You will have more energy and your self esteem will increase. With consistent workouts and proper nutrition, most people begin noticing changes to their body after a couple of weeks.

Yes. I accept Visa, Master Card, checks and cash.
